SNOW IS AMAZING
HAHAHA.  On Wednesdays I work 12:30 to 9:00pm, but we're closing at 5:00pm today because of snow.  Half-day!  Yes!  Snow is fucking succeed!

I am going to go home and do the following:

1) Eat delicious noms.
2) Watch some Pride and Prejudice (I am watching the BBC mini with Colin Firth for the first time).
3) Write some fic.  (Valentine's Day J/D smoochy fic!  Yay!)
4) Snuggle with cats.

And I will also just randomly shout "Yay!"  Like that pig in the Geico commercial who does, indeed, go "Whee!" all the way home.

Well, so far I've had delicious noms, and we watched Supernatural instead, but I've shoveled a whole hell of a lot of snow. And it's cold out. And I would normally have been chilling at work, reading a book on the computer. So...it may be a trade-off.

Enjoy your snow! All we have is slippery, scary ice.

Yeah - I can deal with driving on snow and all that. I dread ice storms. Brr.

I am SO EFFING JEALOUS.

RE: P&P, Monica and I are watching the Kiera Knightly version on Friday because the BBC one is too long to fit in in one sitting, but we're going to have a pre-feature, intermission, and post-feature viewing of Fountain Scene. Which I'm assuming you're aware of by reputation, but if not, you'll understand what I'm referring to as soon as you get there.

Mm. Fountain Scene.

When Darcy jumps into that little green lake thing in front of the nice clean lake thing in front of Pemberley? Maybe because I'd heard so much about it already, but...eh. I mean, Colin Firth is always dreamtastic, but I didn't feel my ovaries explode and kill me or anything, heh.

I'm also quite fond of Darcy's enormous floating ghost head saying things to Elizabeth. That's pretty swell.

We are looking at snow on Thursday afternoon, with a chance of snow day Friday (schools close around here if the flakes come more than one an hour.)

I'm beginning to wonder what happened to January...but I'll say Yay! for smoochy fic!

I know! The other day, I was like, oh, I have plenty of time to write that fic! Because I have a hard time with calendars. I'm glad I finally worked out that I have about three weeks so I could go ahead and get started.

I am more than a little jealous of you getting to see P&P for the first time! I would mention how it is made of awesome, but I bet you know that already. :)

We have two parts left - I've really been enjoying it so far!

You're the second person on my flist who's never seen the Colin Firth P&P. I... don't understand that at all, that mini is love.
Shannon: fine eyeskungfuwaynewho on January 20th, 2011 01:27 am (UTC)
Well, I hadn't gone out of my way to not watch it or anything - I just...hadn't yet. Part of it was waiting until my library got it.

I am eternally jealous of your snow day (AGAIN!) and your ability to write smoochy fic. My Muse is still on vacay. I think it feels a little bit pressured by fic-on-demand. You just watch. February 15 I will have TEH BEST FIC IDEA EVER.

Any chance you'll get tomorrow off, too? Because that would be sweet. It would be like one of your Thursdays off! But a bonus one!

Just you wait - I'll get stuck on the fifth time he could have kissed her but didn't. I know it.

Still haven't got a call about tomorrow. Right now we've had about eight inches, and it's supposed to keep snowing till about 6am at the same pace, so I'd imagine we'll get at least a foot. I...would be surprised if we didn't at least open a couple hours late at the very least, though they might be wary of closing down so soon after the last time.

But, since I had Monday off, if I had tomorrow off, too? That would mean I will have only worked half this week. Which is awesome.
