I am not feeling very zen right now.
KU is down by three with two minutes left.  Watching the game upstairs started to feel like a jinx.  Am now "watching" game by following play-by-play on ESPN website.  Hopefully this will work.

Yes, I do believe that my actions contribute to the team's success.

ETA: WE WON.  WE WON.  HOLY SHIT.  I had to watch the last possession through my shirt.  Oh my God, okay, we trailed THE ENTIRE GAME, and we managed to come back and win.

Whyyyyy does it make me so happy when a bunch of random men win a game?  I don't know.  But I am beyond zen right now.  I AM ULTRA-ZEN.

I don't watch basketball at all, but it's always so exciting when teams can come back from a seemingly hopeless situation to win.

nudge nudge, in other March Madness news, Ivanova's down by two votes. (or Aeryn's up by two votes, depending on how you shake out on that argument)

Exciting, yes, but also hell on my nerves. It was three hours before I could get to sleep last night, heh.

Have to look in wiki to understand the meaning of "Rock Chalk, Jayhawk")) Is it still a student competition till now? Oh, feeling myself a complete noob))

Yes - "Rock Chalk Jayhawk" is the student-led chant at the University of Kansas. Our men's basketball team is playing in the end of the season tournament right now. :D

In our country student's games are quite not so popular as in USA. To tell the truth they are not popular at all, except world or european youth championships (( or the World Student Games, which we'll welcome in 2013 ))

*lol* Yeah, I'm sure your playing along saved the team! Good idea!!

I sense sarcasm.

Seriously though, toward the end my Dad, who had been watching the game by himself downstairs, came up to join us. Ten seconds later, the other team scored. He said, quite matter of factly, "They were doing better when I was downstairs," and then went back down. This is totally normal. I am not a superstitious person at all, and I don't believe in that kind of thing one bit - but by God, I will not jinx my team. I've run through the house to pull on my KU sweatshirt, I've stood and put my arms in the air, I've run from room to room to find the "right" TV, I've done all kinds of stupid things. Because that's part of the experience, and we're all in this together.

No, I actually wasn't being sarcastic. I do things like that, too! It is part of the experience, and part of the fun.

Hee, okay. Not that I would have minded if it had been sarcasm! Because it is pretty silly.

Congrats :D (Because yes, it's your success just as much as theirs. /normal sports fan reasoning :D)

Yes, I do believe that my actions contribute to the team's success.

I believe that, too. And I was proven right so many times. ;D

Right!? Nothing like that sense of accomplishment when a bunch of other people did something awesome and you watched them do it. ;)

I guess you could say it wouldn't be exciting if we always won and it was always easy.
