Important question, did you feel cold when you watchd Everest?XD

I was going to say something about how the movie really made me feel the cold and the heights and the danger and all the rest in a way that the book never could, when I realized I forgot to add the book! Which I finished a few days prior. But yes, goodness, the movie was just excruciating sometimes to watch. Like ten minutes in I turned to my sister and was like, I don't understand how anyone does this! How does anyone do this!? And why do they want to?

I always have to ask people about that, because I really felt so cold in the movies (I admit the AC was part of it, but I'm sure even if wihtout that problem I would've felt cold).
Oh right I always forget it's based on a book. How is the book, worth a read?
Totally feel you, I get that it must be an amazing view but at what cost? I mean I might prefer colder weather over hot summer weather, but I'd avoid that kind of cold weather too.

The book was very good! Technically the movie wasn't actually based on the book, but they're both about the same event.

One thing that I think the book captures that the movie doesn't - and I don't blame it, it's hard to put into a 2-hour movie - is how confusing the whole situation was. They didn't know where people were, one person thought they saw Person A but it was really Person B, and so on. It was months before they figured out exactly what happened.

I think what got me more than the cold was how high they were - clear up where jets fly! Like, I can't imagine trying to do anything in air that thin. Crazy. I like hiking, but that's just too much.

Yeah I don't really see how they could've incorporated that confusion well. Though I can totally imagine that the real situation was like that.

True, I might've put that a bit more to the back of my mind because I was in awe of the view. But yeah I don't think I can even imagine how it feels to be in thin air like that.
