Some days I just can't think of a title.
I'm in the kitchen, helping my mom start cooking dinner.  She has Little House on the Prairie on.  She asks me what Melissa Gilbert is doing today.  I say I don't know; TV movies or something.

"I wonder if she's still married to what's-his-name."

I cannot let her see my secret and embarrassing crush!  "Um, Bruce Boxleitner, right?  I think they are.  Still married.  Um.  Yeah."

I do not set off any of her alarms.  After a minute or so: "Wasn't he on that show you like?"

"Yes.  Babylon 5."

"No, the remake one."

"Yes, he's in TRON.  The new one, too."

"No.  The show they did a remake of."  I don't answer her, because I have no idea what she's talking about.  Another minute passes.  "The one with Mary McDonnell."

"Battlestar Galactica?  He wasn't on that."

"Are you sure?"

"Mom, that was Edward James Olmos."

"No, the original."

"That was Dirk Benedict."

Five solid minutes pass.  Then: "Buck Rogers!"

I came down and got on IMDB.  I don't know if I have the heart to tell her that no, Bruce Boxleitner was not on the 1970s remake of Buck Rogers.  I do not even know what she was thinking.  Still, bless.  ♥

This morning I helped my Grandpa run some errands.  We took his dog in for shots and his annual check-up; we did his bi-weekly trip to the store to buy two specific items (juice and milk today); we finally used the gift card he got for his birthday back in March to buy him some fleece-lined jeans.  We stopped at Wendy's for lunch.  Now, I have not eaten at Wendy's in a powerful long time.  I saw that they had a new salad, and that it looked tasty - apples and cranberries and pecans and grilled chicken.  I'm not a fan of salad dressing, and to enjoy a dry salad I need a lot of flavor.

So I bought that salad.

Then I went back to Grandpa's house to eat lunch with him.

Then I opened up that salad.

Which reminds me, I need a Zarek icon. I totally lurved Zarek.

I realise none of you need to know this, but I coulnd't think of a more productive contribution to this conversation. My brain is dead.

One of these days I'm going to icon all of BSG. I have a group of icons from early S3 and then a group from three or four episodes in S4. I think I have a Zarek icon somewhere, but I don't think it's any good, heh.

Hey, but you have Felix! Poor Felix.

I don´t think I ever did find out what he did to his Eight...

It was in the second batch of webisodes. I think they're on the 4.5 DVDs?

For some reason, I am very reluctant to watch or listen to any extras on DVDs. I know, it's silly, but I can't help it. I don't think I've ever watched a single episode with commentary, or any show, and I only watch the interviews and making-of stuff when I've watched the whole show. Twice, just to be sure. Somehow, if I watch the extras I get the feeling I'm polluting the pure enjoyment of the show as it was Meant To Be or something.

Yeah, I think I have some problems.

He had an Eight?? [Woosh] Missed that!

caprica9 has posted some Zarek icons. She seems to ship Roslin/Zarek pretty hard (and has fun photoshopping them together), but there are some decent just-Zarek icons in there, too.

Thanks, I'll check them out. I ship Bill/Laura, obviously, but I don't mind Laura/Tom that much. They did have some chemistry.

Bill and Laura are the best romance ever to me. Romeo and Juliet who?

As for Best Romance Ever, I'm still torn between Bill and Laura and John Sheridan and Delenn. I'm just happy no one is pointing a gun to my head and forcing me to decide...
Shannon: b5 transitkungfuwaynewho on October 7th, 2010 06:43 pm (UTC)
Me too. I love them both - I don't know that I'd be able to decide definitively one way or the other.
Holly: Disquiet kisshollywobbles on October 7th, 2010 06:52 pm (UTC)
I'll definitely have to check out B5 at some point if you guys are having such a hard time deciding. I can't imagine anything topping A/R. (I think Bill Adama has ruined my chances of ever falling in love with a real person.)
Shannon: b5 darkness and lightkungfuwaynewho on October 7th, 2010 07:01 pm (UTC)
YES. CAPITAL PLAN, CHAP. Seriously, John/Delenn are amazing and perfect. I mean, seriously, Holly, I started writing fanfiction. What more do I need to say?

Haha, I used to feel the same way about Fox Mulder, back in the day. How can I fall in love with a real person when someone like Mulder exists! I want a neurotic, paranoid conspiracy theorist of my very own!
Holly: A/R Schnuggowshollywobbles on October 7th, 2010 07:20 pm (UTC)
I totally make up fanfic inside my head, although I've never actually written any down. But oh, my current if the cylons had never attacked fantasy inside my head. Epic, Shannon. Epic.

Or, well, actually boring and lame if sort of sweet. But it's epically sweet, dammit.
