"Nine companions..."
For fandomverse's Group challenge, a (hugely enormous) picspam of one of my very favorite groups of all time, The Fellowship, from The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

That is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Great job, I'm in awe.

Aw, thank you! I feel it wouldn't be fair to take much credit, though; these are such beautiful movies, it's hard to go wrong.

Now I want to watch those movies again. This was gorgeous.

Thank you! I sit down and watch the trilogy about two or three times a year, but starting around Thanksgiving I'll watch them along with all the special features (and there are A LOT), which will take me right through New Years.

This is AMAZING!

*sighs and thinks of happy times at the movies with the fellowship*

Thanks! Yeah, I'm so looking forward to The Hobbit, not just because it'll be The Hobbit, but because I miss LOTR and the fellowship so much.
Martine: LotR/Legolasla_loony on August 16th, 2011 07:11 pm (UTC)
Me too!
And I'm so glad to see how many familiar faces will be in The Hobbit. I don't care about everybody complaining, I missed them and Peter Jackson made the LotR awesome, so I have trust in him to do the same with The Hobbit.

Absolutely. I saw some grumbling over Galadriel being in the movie, and I was just like SHUT YOUR FACE IT'S GALADRIEL.

I mean PJ could make a three hour movie of just the hobbits sitting around drinking and smoking and talking and I'd see it five times in the theater.

YES! I'm in this forum that actually started around LotR and I read the thread about the cast once in a while and I just can't post there because people are always like 'This actor is too young' and stuff like that. Like a drwaf can just look like Gimli and no other way. And it seems nobody is okay with the elves (I seem to be the only one cheering for Lee PacexD) and for some reason nobody understood how Legolas could be in the movie...

I'd come with you =D
Shannon: lotr legolas balrogkungfuwaynewho on August 17th, 2011 06:20 pm (UTC)
Nobody understood how Legolas was in the movie? Had any of them ever read The Hobbit? Thranduil is his dad! Come on! (I mean, I know he's never mentioned by name, but of all the LOTR cast to stick in The Hobbit that aren't actually in the book, he makes by far the most sense.)
Martine: LotR/Legolasla_loony on August 18th, 2011 11:04 am (UTC)
I thought the same. They just had to complain about something I think because they were done with the looks I think of Killi (too young etc. until somebody said thta he IS a young dwarf^^).
And I so love that the whole family of Legolas will be in the movie. Elrond is cool and Galadriel rocks but he is still my favorite elfxD

Holy crap, you changed your blog layout! I was very confused for a good minute there. I'm better now.

And onto to the actual post.

This is a gorgeous picspam. Love the coloring variations and black and white, and the emotional and action scenes you chose. Also makes me want to watch the movies again.
Shannon: lotr galadrielkungfuwaynewho on August 17th, 2011 04:00 am (UTC)
Hee! Yeah, I was getting kind of sick of the super-narrow blue band, and it made my fic all tiny. I want to find a layout that when you go behind the cut it's just one wide white space, because I don't like sizing down my spams, but I got tired and just went with this one.

Thank you! Although the whole time, I was like, now I need to do a "ladies of LOTR" spam, and then a "landscapes of LOTR," and then "villains," etc., etc. There's just so much in these movies!

OMG, so pretty. I love the fellowship. I haven't watched all three movies in years. Sigh. That final shot of Sam and Frodo is so gorgeous.

Thank you! I actually went to see the first one when they did that limited theatrical rerelease in May, and it was so cool, seeing it on the big screen again. (I would have seen the other two, but Laura and Sarah didn't want to go, and I didn't want to go by myself.)
