I am seriously so happy right now I think my heart is going to explode.

It was touch and go there for a minute about whether I was going to start crying at work.  Read more on the details from the links here.

It truly worries me to no end that the real killer(s) is out there somewhere, free this entire time while these innocent men have had to suffer. Part of the agreement was that if the men should ever win a new trial and prove themselves innocent they cannot sue the state for compensation for their lives being ruined. They at least have their freedom now but...it's just, I don't even have words. Thank you for posting this update. :)

For some reason, I've been having a hard time understanding how someone could live with themselves knowing they were guilty and letting those men rot in prison, than that someone killed those boys in the first place. That makes no sense, but that's what's been killing me. (Especially if it is in fact Terry Hobbs, who was at the courtroom yesterday calling the WM3 animals.)

I haven't seen the Paradise Lost movies, but they made it pretty clear that the evidence was handled terribly, and that these boys were scapegoats, yes?

The thing is, there was no evidence. There was literally no evidence. They didn't like Damien Echolls because he wore all black and listened to metal and was weird, so they pinned it on him before they'd even done the autopsies. The prosecution's main witness was a quack who got his degree through the mail, and they actually tried to claim that since Damien had once checked out a book on Alistair Crowley from the library that that proved he was a Satanist. I could go on and on - to say they were scapegoats is putting it mildly.

It really is worth watching the documentaries. It is literally like watching a witch hunt unfold.
