NaWriSoMo Day Sixteen
The Fall: 15 pages --> Daily Total: 3 pages
Screenwriting Contest: incorporated workshop edits --> no page count difference

And I got my flu shot, too!  I don't know why I'm having such a hard time starting the two actual screenplays, but I have a feeling I'm going to have to go up to Starbucks one day this weekend and just really buckle down to get over that first hump.  Which is especially weird since I have the first ten pages on one of them.  Am just stuck, though.  Not in a "I don't know what to write" way, but in a "I would rather do pretty much anything else" way.

A couple people commented on the previous entry that they were sorry they hadn't been commenting all along.  Please feel no obligation to comment!  Or to read!  I know these aren't the most scintillating posts in the whole world, and I have no problem if everyone wants to scroll right by.  When I tag these #no one cares, I don't mean to imply you don't care about me or pose it in some kind of passive-aggressive way or anything like that.  I just mean, like, I'm pretty sure no one cares.  I kind of don't care.  So if you care in the like abstract "I hope Shannon's writing is going well" way, then that's awesome, but if you don't care about how many words I wrote yesterday...well, I think that's just normal.  So no worries, my friends, no worries.

yaye flu shot^^
I never like getting shots but for some reason the flu shot is always fun because a friend of my mum does it...first time in our kitchen and then in hers. Getting shots outside of the usual practice environment is somehow coolxD

What do you usually do when you are stuck in this way?

It was actually my first flu shot! So hopefully I won't get the flu this year, though I already went ahead and pre-bought my winter cough drops, because I'll need them, I have no doubt.

Sadly, when I'm really stuck, I usually treat myself as an incentive to leave my house and read. So I'll actually buy a nice drink at Starbucks (usually I just bring my own water), or I'll get something for lunch.

If it's an actual "I don't know what to write next" kind of thing, though, I might try to write the story in a different format. So if I'm stuck on a screenplay, which is usually the case, I might write it out as a short story.

And if I get really stuck, I'll watch a movie or two in that genre and see what they did, and see if I can apply to it to story.

Would be great =) I get the shot almost every year since my insurrance covers it, but I think it's ages ago anyway since I had the flu. I always tell myself that I don't get really sick and it works most of the time^^

*writes all this down since it might be helpful in the future*
